  • Question: Weight loss...

    Hi Mizmona,

You've done great!! 290 to 214!! I hope that will be me in a few months! How long did it take you and what doseage were you on? Did you ever change your doseage along the way. At first it seemed like the Meridia was really making a difference, but now it doesn't seem as effective. Someone else wrote that she thinks we become sort of used to it and so we don't think it is working as good. I think that may be true. It still helps.

A: Week three for me... I just went out and bought my very first pair of size 22 jeans. I've been wearing 26/28 for about ten years. Do you all know how terrific I feel??? I do not have a scale, but I think that I am somewhere teetering either just above or just below 200 lbs (that would be about 17 pounds gone!) I am still just nibbling a few times during the day with one main meal in the evening. I never feel hungry. Never! Almost all desire to eat is now gone. Even when I think I may be bordering on hungry, I always feel satisfied within a few bites. I simply cannot believe this. It is the same each day. I keep waiting for the miracle be over. Is it possible that it's really my own will that has taken over at this point? Or maybe it's that my stomach has shrunk (or is it shrank?) In any event, this girl is doing just fine with Meridia. My case was as hopeless as it comes. If I can lose weight, ANYONE can!!

A: Yeah Nella! New jeans! Hurrah!

I DO think it's at least partly your own will, and not ONLY the medication that's responsible. After all, YOU still decide what you put in your mouth, even if the drug makes you feel differently about it.

Hey, try this: Give yourself $1 a pound to spend on clothes when you're done! Or $5 if you can afford it. That way, when you're all svelte you can go on a shopping spree!

    A: Hi

I had lost 115 pounds, but because of things happening in my life,I gained,40 pounds, this was before I decided to take Meridia.I started on Meridia,July 6th and weighed two twenty six and a half.I now weigh two thirteen and a half.I was at a point where the weight was coming off very slow, and thought I would try Meridia, for six months and then go back to W.W. untill I reach my goal.I follow the W.W. program and I weigh in at the doctors office twice a month,it doesn't cost me anything and it keeps me motivated.I would like to be at 199 by Christmas.I try to walk six days a week at the high school track I usually start at 5:30 A.M.and walk for an hour or so,about three to three and a half miles, sometime more, some times less. This morning I walked 3.6 miles.Good luck to you,I know it is very difficult to lose weight, but concentrate on changing your eating habits and exercise and I promise you,THE WEIGHT WILL COME OFF.Good luck.
